anyone else horrified by eastenders cot death story?

i am literally sickened by the latest story...it gives me goosebumps and makes me feel physically sick. anyone else out there agree? really dont think i can watch it anymore. its bad enough depicting cot death without a mother stealing someone elses baby!! sorry, just need to rant...

Yes, there are about 1000000000000000 threads on the subject, including the one in discussions of the day! MNHQ are writing a letter to the BBC as a lot of people are upset and are complaining.

To be fair, cot death occurs. It's painful, heart breaking anf tragic but it is a fact of life. Soaps are entitled to depict this. Life is harsh and soaps love showing misery, we all know that. The baby swap story is possibly harder to swallow but it's just a story. It's fiction. It's our choice whether we watch it or not.

I think we need to be sensible about this. Yes cot death is painful, but so is losing a partner or a child, or a parent. All these have been shown on soaps and yes there is an echo of the pain that comes back to haunt you. But these are soaps, they are not real life, they are make believe. Just like a novel - not real. I cannot understand why the hysteria over this story.

But we need to keep a grip on reality here, this is a STORY it is not true. And to say that people will start believing that because a mother loses a child through cot death (which is a terrible thing), she is liable to steal a child, is just plain stupid. The majority of the human race will know that is not true. i know there are some sad people out there who think soaps are REAL, but lets be grateful that they are in the minority, as most sensible people know that it is a drama. and nothing else.
