what are you writing your essay on?

Am in smae position I just cannot seem to get going with mine either

Girls on the Autism Spectrum.

It is really interesting stuff but there is so much to say and so much of it is both complex and potentially very political.

I know it but find it very hard to express in words. I have to take care over every word I chose so I can't quite bring myself to write at all!

What are you writing about?

Have you done a plan or a spidergram?
I find it helps me to write the intro and the conclusion first, so I don't waffle too much. Mind you, 4000 words is quite a lot.
I only have 1000 words to write on leadership and management, so I am having a bit of a break atm.

Hello PP,
Yes I have a plan and I have plenty of material to include.
I agree 4000 words is a bit daunting. I haven't written anything this long for about 25 years!

World slowest typist I see why you are struggling, ASD are so broad and individual to each child, and as you say VERY political! good luck.

Mine is on the learnign of a child I have observed in school in the areas of literacy, numeracy and science. I am striggling because I know what I want to say but am struggling to find the evidence to back it up. As I have the three areas I have split my essay into sections so set myself the target of writing 100 words on the literacy developemtn of the child today. I have finally got going. I have 320 words left to reach my target. My prob is sitting my bum on a chair for long enough to get started! Blush

I have a 2500 word essay due in on Jan 4th by 12pm. I have 1000 words left to write and no idea when between now and then I am going to get the chance to write it Sad

I am praying for heavy snow so that our New year visitors from down south may cancel. Sad really because I love to see them but the panic is setting in over this assignment Sad

Try handwriting a first draft? I find that an easier way to get started. Probably helpful if you really are the World's Slowest Typist :)

Also I would suggest with such a broad topic that you focus on the key arguments in the area, and use a few specific examples to illustrate, and then you can add your 'so therefore I would suggest' type stuff. Hope that doesn't sound patronising Blush

Anyway, your essay sounds really interesting. I have some really boring ones due in on the 10th and can't motivate myself to write because they are just so dull!

much sympathy from ehre, I have a 4000 word essay due in on the 10th 'assessing my teaching' where I 'plan' and review lessons aI taught last term. so the loonger I leave it the less I have to say as my memory is shocking!
