DD2 is 2 weeks old and we seem to be co sleeping, because other wise she doesnt sleep and I wont leave her to scream.

Shes BF on demand and during the night I help her latch on then I go back to sleep.

But out of interest, how many of you have co slept with your DC from birth?

We coslept with them all as babies, but not as toddlers. But 6yo dd3 is in with us most nights these days, she hates sleeping alone and her sisters don't want her. We like it.

Co-slept from about 2 weeks and still do. DS is 2 now. We didn't plan to but it's the best way for us all to get a good nights sleep. Would do it again if we have another one. I've also read "Three in a bed" and recomend it.

We co-sleeped with DD until she was 2 and wanted her own bed.
Now Co-sleeping with DS 6 months.

Wish I had from birth.

I co-slept:

1 week around 6 weeks
4 months - 7 months
8.5 months - now (12 months) but I have no plans to give it up for a long while yet now.

Three In A Bed is definitely worth a read - it's why I changed from a pragmatic co-sleeper to an 'on principle' one. :)

If we have a second, they'll be in with me from day 1.

Didn't co sleep with ds but have done so with all my daughters.

dd1 was from 2 weeks till 13 months in my bed and we (my ex and I)only moved her out to her own room and established a proper sleep routine with her because she wasn't going to sleep till 12 at night and as we were both working it was having a negative effect on all of us.

dd2 from birth till 7 months, again same reason.

dd3 from birth till present time, although she starts of the night in her cot and frequently ends up the rest of the night in bed with dp and I.

I love it though, and it means we get some well needed sleep. All my daughters were/are bottle fed though and yes like a previous poster I thought it better to feed in bed rather than sitting up and dropping them.

I have co-slept off and on with DS from around 4 months (when he stopped sleeping through :() until now- 14 months. I only do it now if he's ill or wakes early and won't go back in his cot. I stopped doing it full time at around 10 months, as he was wanting to feed every couple of hours and i was shattered. It was a bit of a struggle to get him sleeping in his cot in his own room but didn't do CC- DH started soothing him sometimes and pretty quickly he was sleeping 7-3, then 7-5. I just played it by ear and did what gave us both maximum sleep at any particular time. HTH! :)
