baby 12-13 weeks, always had good head control for her age, seems to dislike the head support in her maxi cosi cabrio car seat. Head flops forward when we are driving, if she sleeps.

How do I know when to remove it? I've read the manual, no advice in there.

We removed ours at about 3 months for the twins but kept it longer for dd4 coz she was tiny.

When you have to physically force your child's head into it and it comew with them when yuo remove them from the seat In our case, this happened very early! It all depends on the child's neck strength Ithink - each child wil be different.
