this has been going on since yesterday, sorry to be so graphic, but as he doesn't eat very much anyway, he's eating even less now. he seems okay otherwise, no temperature and drinking liquids.

i can take him to the doc tomorrow (have saved recent nappy) however in the meantime would like some feedback if i am worrying for nothing!

i can't remember my 4 year old ever having this!

thanks so much

sounds like a stomach bug type of poo.
my ds1 had them when he had upset stomach (usually pale poo then much vomiting)

We are currently experiencing the same thing, thought it was because he is teething (back molars) but think maybe he has a stomach bug as his 11mth sister is the same.

He has been off his food (more than normal) and drinking lots of milk I have assumed thats why his poo has changed.

thanks for quick reply joosy he was sick friday night, thought it was the hot dog he had! Confused

did you do anything with your ds1 when he had this?

thanks

no nothing you can do really, just make sure he's having fluids.
Ice lollies good if they can't keep stuff down.
Just keep an eye, and if you're worried go to doc's (perhaps wouldn't take pooey nappy though Grin)

Hope he feels better soon

strawberryshortbread · 12/12/2010 16:16

thanks! you're right about pooey nappy, people at the school run tomorrow might get offended by the smell around me! now if i had one of those pregnancy wee sample bottles i could scoop a sample to take to gp!

My DD had this it lasted about a week and came after she was sick (just once). She seemed ok, just a bit off her food.

LBsmumbling as your dc's drinking lots of milk, thought i'd update as just back from docs (sick twice since and few more bad nappies) turns out he has a bowel bug and he's not breaking down the enzymes in milk (didnt catch the name of diagnosis!)hence the light coloured soft poo, so he's basically temporarily lactose intolerant, so no milk or dairy for 24 hours was prescription!

oh poor ds. hope he feels better soon. Smile

LBsmumblingxmascarols · 13/12/2010 15:47

oh thanks for that, might be off to the doctors too.

24 hours with no milk - sounds hellish !!

strawberryshortbread · 13/12/2010 16:10

thanks joosey

LBsmumbling i've picked up some unsweetened soy milk from the corner shop! surprised what they sell nowadays! couldn't bear him going to bed without having his usual milk first, just hoping he'll drink it!
