Flip - first couple of weeks?

Hi

I've heard that I might be better off using newborn pampers for the first few weeks (for the mec. poo) and then after that to use Flip.

Has anyone used FLIP from day 1 with their babies?

Anyone feel like sharing their experiences? I'm dead set on getting FLIPs but not sure about the first couple of weeks. Grin

They weren't about when dd was born, but we have used them since she was 5 months and they are fab. you might be best to use the disposable inserts at first asthe washable ones are prone to staining. Disposable ones are much slimmer too so would be less bulky. i think babipur were doing 3 packs for £10. They are made of bamboo and are 97% biodegradable, we put ours in the compost bin :)

we have been using them with the stay dry inserts from 4 weeks which made DD2 9lbs, best nappy i have found and not a leak yet!

Probably depends how big your baby is. If you are getting them in anyway you can try them, and have a pack of disposables on standby. (I love flips! but starting using them at about 10 weeks with DD and they were fine but looked HUGE. She was 6lb6 at birth, and a skinny legged thing). I think they say from about 7lb.

you could try them with a muslin. The inserts are quite bulky (well not really bulky, I think they are quite slim for a Birth to Potty solution) but can image it would be bulky on a small newborn.
