Do you seriously mean 11 months?? Surely thats too young for her to understand why you are putting her on the potty!

Probably because she's 11 months old and not old enough to understand anything about potties! The last thing I would want to happen when I'd settled down for a nice, peaceful poo would be for someone to disturb me by putting me somewhere else, and she's probably just the same.

She's far too young to understand what potties are all about; she doesn't even understand that she poos yet. For your own sake and hers I would suggest that you leave the potty for a while and just let her get used to the sensation of pooing in her nappy.

yeah but she has to have her nappy off because otherwise she gets really bad nappy rash, and as shes moving i cant just put her on a towel anymore and dont want her to poo on the floor, iv tried to make it a friendly place and stuff but she throws one, i dont know what else i can do!

Does she get nappy rash immeadiatly after doing a poo?

If you know when shes doing one, let her finish and rip her nappy straight off. You can then let her run around without her nappy on (if shes walking that is!)

WigWamBam · 26/09/2005 11:44

Just a thought but maybe you need to be addressing the nappy rash in a different way - trying different barrier creams, treatment creams or different nappies? Or as Nbg says, let her have her nappy-free time after a poo rather than before it.

well usually she only has one poo a day so i do it at other times but when air gets to her she seems to get an urge! lol

and as for creams as fresh air works so well for her id prefer to just leave her bum off (even if it means cleaning poo off the floor) i dont like too many chemicals.
