If you want shaped nappies Diddy diapers are good for a newborn.

Its worth looking on ebay as well.

I think the nappy nippa ones have better containment.

However muslim squares pad folded work well with a motherease air rikka wrap. It is a very ecomonical way of coping with a newborn poo. A newborn will go through 10 to 12 nappies a day, but this phase only lasts 6 to 8 weeks.

I suggest you use fleece liners and wipes. You can cut an old bit of fleece and make hundreds.

thanks for that tired I have already made my wipes using towelling on one side and fleece on the other, have got basic fleece too. Ikea for the blankets then as you say cut them up.

Have you used diddy diapers? Are they nice and soft? Does the nippa not make them more bulky? (sorry for questions)

thanks

Lia66 I used Diddy Diapers with my DD2 and have just recently stopped using them. I loved them, found the nappi nippa no problem at all. It means they are really adjustable because you can put the nippa wherever/however you like which is great with newborn scrawny little leggies.

They are lovely and soft and they dry really quickly too, they feel practically dry when you get them out of the washer.

See here www.babykind.co.uk/diddydiaper.htm for more info about them

Diddy diapers are lovely - very neat and trim. Another really good nappy is the new Pop'n'Gro pocket. The size 1 goes down to give a really slim nappy. And if you fold over the front (in an unofficial fold) it will go small enough for a little diidly 4lb baby. But it also fits to about 18 months. It's my favourite recommendation for newborns.

I did use diddy diapers. I liked both the cotton diddy diapers and the micro diddy diaper.

I wasn't keen on the aplix ones. They weren't quite so good for containment as the nippa ones.
