What should my baby wear at night?

DS is 5 weeks old now and still sleeping in his Moses basket next to my bed. He wears a vest and sleepsuit to bed, then I've been covering him with a cellular blanket doubled over (so it counts as two blankets) and topping that with a knitted blanket if it's cold. The blankets come up to his chest - he hates having his arms covered so they're always out of the covers. Last night he seemed a bit restless and when I turned the light on to check on him the room thermometer said it was 15 degrees. Do you think he was too cold? I am paranoid about him overheating but I don't want him chilly either. Should I put a cardigan on him over his sleepsuit or will these covers be enough? I don't have a grobag yet, although I am planning on getting one soon.

one more blanket should be fine for 15C

Its so hard to keep them the right temperature! Its ok if his hands and feet are cold to the touch, its his middle that needs to be warm.

When I had my first child (over 10 years ago now) the advice was to feel the back of his neck, which should feel warm but not to the point of feeling very warm, if that makes sense. If your baby wakes, I would feel the back of his neck. If the back of his neck is cold I would add another garment/blanket. If the back of his neck is warm, I wouldn't add any more garments or covers.
