We have a real problem with bad parking at my dds' school and is a real bugbear of mine. People park on the pavement, stop on the yellow zig-zags etc.
We also get a LOT of parents parking OPPOSITE the zig-zags which causes a lot of problems. Firstly it's a v narrow road and it makes passing difficult. Passing cars almost have to swerve into the school driveway to get past. Secondly, it means there is NO safe place for the children to cross the road.
So is parking opposite the zig-zags allowed or not? And if it is allowed by way of the Highway Code, is the school able to enforce its own rule?
