How long after DC1 did you start TTC DC2?

My DD is 4 months now and she took us 18 months to conceive (we believe just because of me being on the pill for so long, had medical tests and all normal for both DH and I).

I was thinking of waiting until DD was 1 year old before TTC DC2 so that if I did get pregnant straight away there was a good age gap between them IMO and if it took a while again then so be it.

Is there anything I should think about when planning this?

It may take much shorter time to conceive the 2nd child if you are anything like me.

Took us 9 months to conceive DS1, then started trying for DS2 when DS1 was 9 months old because we thought it would take a while again only to fall pregnant the first month of trying.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Work out the minimum gap you are comfortable with and then just go for it! As you know all too well these things can't be planned, just tried.

We thought an 18 month gap would be our minimum so started trying when DD was 9 months. I was conscious that it had happened so fast with DD (2nd month of trying) but that it might take a while for number two.

We have a 19 month gap Grin

my ds is 7mo. We're letting nature take its course. I think I'm hoping it will happen sooner than my dh is though. Smile

Well DS is 1 next month and we've talked about TTC next late spring. This would mean that the next baby would be born when DS is at least 2yrs old ( and hopefully potty training stage ). Also don't want 2 in nappies.

Don't really want to leave it any later as it took 9mths to concieve DS and any bigger age gap doesn't feel right. But I guess u can't always tell how long it's gonna take.

When Ds was 9 mths old we decided to start trying again, thinking it would take a while.

It didn't. We got a positive test 28 days later!

we started trying when DD1 was 15 months, thinking at least the minimum gap would be 2 years. It took 2 years to get pregnant with DD1 so i thought it would take a while, in my head I was aiming at a 3 year gap...

Conceived on the 2nd month of trying, so a gap of 2years 2 months!

Took 3mths to concieve DD1 and just after her first birthday we though about number 2. Thought we'd start ttc again in case it took a while but first month of trying DD2 was conceived.
21mth age gap here.

With my second I was much more aware of fertile times etc so guess that helped abit.

It took 8 months to conceive DD1 so thought we'd start straight away trying to conceive DD2 as we didn't want a big gap...got pg when DD1 was only 4.5 mo (first time of trying) and we have less than 14 mo between the two. We have our difficult days but for the most part, I love it!
