pls help me keep him in washables!

So DS is coming up to 2, has always been in cloth. After trying various things have always used bumgenius v3, which have been fab.

Not used them at night for months and months as always leaked - usually use a disposable now.

Now the bgs are leaking in the day - and I mean he is literally weeing through them after less than two hours. Totally soaked. I use both the big and small inserts.

Do I have to give in and put him in disposables now (he's a big boy, very tall), or is there a solution. Can't afford new nappies.

My DD is in BG V3 (amongst others) and at 21 months uses the big insert and a another full size insert (bought separately) rather than the little one that came with it. It wouldn't last long at all with just the inserts that came with, not anymore. Maybe try that? I#ve bought some secondhand inserts on here or a really good price and been really pleased with them.

Last time I checked Babybots were selling the Coolababy inserts for 99p each which is very cheap and they fit the BG nicely.

You could try a bamboo or hemp insert instead of/or as well as the smaller BG insert. Both are quite thin and very absorbant for the size - more than the microfibre BG insert.

I still only use 1 insert for BG with my 2yo but then he doesn't wee much. I did try the 2 inserts to start with (before I realised he didn't need them) and found it was a lot more bulky - I would worry that it might be too bulky if you put 3 inserts in, but as the bamboo or hemp are thinner you might find it works? I also have a couple of newborn size bamboo terry squares which make good inserts when folded into 3, and again they are quite thin - and cheap too!

I found that Little Lamb size 2 bamboo boosters fitted nicely in a BG v3 so I used the big BG microfibre insert plus the bamboo one. I always put the microfibre on top and bamboo underneath.
