Using both paper and fleece liners in reusables

Hi All,

I've just started weaning my DS and thought that it might be an idea to use paper liners on top of the fleece one for ease when out and about but wondered if this may compromise the purpose of the fleece liner in keeping baby's bum dry.

Is this the case and if so to what degree?

Are there any particular paper liners that are superior in this context?

Thanks

I think you need to use one or the other, not both. My preference is fleece as I think it keeps the skin drier, but I do use paper liners when DS is at nursery (as it's easier to dispose of poo) or if he needs nappy rash cream.

thanks for your reply eldritch that's what I was thinking, to dispose of the poo more easily as at the mo they are still not that solid that they fall off the fleece into the toilet. So I have to choose, there is no solution to this?

I use both, no one ever told me not to! Started to use both with DD1 once she was on solid foods, with DD2 I still use just fleece as her poo is still just runny newborn poo. I never noticed any difference in how dry her bum was once I started to use both.

I'm still using the paper liners that I got from a friend when I had DD1 and they are ok but tried these recently and was very impressed with them. Once I eventually run out of liners I'll be getting those ones.

I'd just use fleece. Was using paper liners until a couple of months ago and can't get over how much better fleece liners are.

Both together is fie, just paper on it's own is pants IME.

thanks for your opinions everyone.

I think I'll try both for a while and see how we get on - GoingToBonnieDoon the link is very useful ta! Smile
