My ds likes dressing up in his sisters "clonk" shoes too. In fact, ds loves my new mid length boots more than anything and quite happily clonks around in those. My dh thinks its funny. I want my boots back

does anyone else find men stereotype?

Oh, for goodness sake! IME boys like dressing up just as much as girls do--Of course he likes noisy shoes. Let him enjoy them and tell your DH to get back to the 1950s!

tell your dp that making things like that forbidden is what "makes" men gay.

not true, I think, but will definatly shut him up

anniebear · 20/09/2005 21:27

As long as your son isn't 19 I wouldn't worry!!

auntymandy · 21/09/2005 05:53

I dont think my DH is that hung up about it. I was just asking why men in general feel uncomfortable with boys 'cross dressing' my older sons dont like it either.

How old is your little one? Not old enough to know what cross dressing is, I'll bet. Lots of kids like pushing dolls in toy buggies too. Would they have a problem with that one also?

auntymandy · 21/09/2005 18:04

Nothing wrong in pushing prams is there men and women do it!

When discussing this recently one point put across was that we didn't actually know or see many gay men pushing pushchairs, etc. out and about - so why would doing so "make" a child gay?

auntymandy · 22/09/2005 07:02

Thats true, plus how many gay men wear purple shoes with silver heels!!!
