My hubby is on a submarine and has been for the past 2 months, he is due back at the end of november by which time our little baby will be 8 months. I have been writing to him and our DD1 has been drawing piccies and dictating letters. I am also going to send piccies.Doyou think that it would be cute and fun for him and make him feel like I really want to cheer him up if I did some footprints and handprints if little DD2. I'm assuming it will be very messy but would be happy to do it if it would bring a smile to his face

Well, I was about to answer and say that I think it's a lovely idea and so does my dh, but seeing as you're being like that, perhaps I shan't bother

hunkermunker · 19/09/2005 20:25

Aw, yes, I do think that would be lovely!

And pmsl at load of pubes - make sure you drink emulsion as gloss will give you a stinking hangover, I'm sure

I think it's a great idea. Dd2 was in SCBU on xmas day and the staff did a card from her to us with her hand and footprints in and I love it.

helsy · 19/09/2005 20:25

Yes lovely idea. Don't drink the paint though otherwise you'll have nothing to do the pictures with. Well you would, but that wouldn't be very nice

trinityrocks · 19/09/2005 20:28

yes deffo

Is he under the water for all that time???

Or is he in other country?

If under water how do you send him stuff?

email????

morningpaper · 19/09/2005 20:39

The fishies take the letters down...

Great idea, I'd deffo do it as long as bubba is up for it!

morningpaper · 19/09/2005 20:39

And what about a little lock of hair?

RTKangaMummy · 19/09/2005 20:48

If you use a high chair it confines DD while she has paint on her

RTKangaMummy · 19/09/2005 20:49

MP better use non-water soluble paint then

trinityrocks · 19/09/2005 22:11

he's under water for most of it and I send post via a BFPO no. (British Forces Post Office) and they send it to wherever he is going to pop up next I would tell you where he will be next but then I'd have to kill you

Oh and the lock of hair would be a great idea but my poor little dd2 has only got about half a lock anyway

DEFFO BRILL better not tell me then

Redtartanlass · 19/09/2005 23:48

Oh the joy in receiving a ?bluey? I did a 6 month posting to Bosnia when ds1 was 12 years old. When I received them in the morning I would hang onto them until end of the day and read them as slowly as possible. If I got anything more than a bluey, it was like all my Christmas?s had come at one.

Trinityrocks ? my advice?go for it?..
