In the first year of the course do you always have to go on adult wards for your placements?

I have looked into the course at one uni and you have to do adult nursing the first year and then in the second year you specialise in peadiatric nursing. Is this the same everywhere?

My friend is doing child health branch at bedfordshire and she did adult placements in her first year and is now doing more child focused placements this year :)

at my uni ( Uni of Bham) the child branch nurses had to do an adult placement in the first year. I think that Birmingham City Univ child branch nurses do just child branch placements all through the 3 years.

I think it depends on where you study.

In the first year all student nurses from every branch study the same academic programme though.
