Need help with my tots bots orignals (cotton)- Stripping?

Hi
Been using my set of Tots bots for a year now. My daughter is now 1.5years old and her wees are getting less frequent but huuugge.

Not sure whether its her age or the fact that she seems to save up very large wees but they arent in great condition at the mo. They smell very strongly of wee, a lot. One wet nappy makes the bucket honk! They are discoloured (last night's wash came out orangey coloured including the fleece liners)

Im thinking of having a week off them and doing some hard core strip washing.

Can someone talk me through what I need to do? I've seen various 'recipies' with vinegar, no vinegar etc. Can someone help with best options please?

Roll on potty training!

I go for washing several times with nothing in there until there are no suds in the washing water so there is no residue left form the detergent then I do a wash with a good slug of vinegar.

You might also want to try doing a rinse before you wash them as a regular thing. I find they smell much less when I do this.

Thanks Indith

What kind of vinegar is it you use?

Just the bog standard distilled stuff.

Agree with pp. It is probably being caused by detergent residue trapped in the fibres. Try a strip wash - should help. Going forward try reducing the amount of detergent you use OR rinsing / soaking in COLD water before the main wash. Hot water will make stains fix more.

Thanks Flipper, hadnt realised that about the hot water.

i use very little non bio powder and napisan

Is bio better? does napisan build up too?
