My daughter has been sleeping through the night for weeks now, sometimes 12 hours. My doctor told me that's fine and that her baby slept for 14 hours a night. Is this normal? She has 6oz bottles aswell, usually around 5 a day but twice in the past week she's had 4 bottles of 6oz and then slept through. Is this ok?

My DD slept through the night (well, my night so 11- 6/7) from 11 weeks - until she was 18 weeks when she started waking up for milk again. I don't know much about the bottles I'm afraid, but I think if she's generally well, alert, gaining weight, wet & dirty nappies etc then you should just enjoy your sleep!

It might change in the future (4 months is a funny time for growth spurts when sleeping & eating patterns can go out the window), but then again you might simply be lucky and have a great sleeper.

Hiya

I think this seems fairly normal. My DD (now 16 weeks) has always been a good sleeper and could regularly do 8-12 hour stretches (from about 6 weeks old).

However, do be warned that things can change quickly. Mine is showing classic signs of teething at the moment (and I can feel a couple pushing through) and this has disturbed her sleep a bit. Last night she slept from 9am until 7.30 am, however, the night before she woke twice during the night and I had to feed her to get her back to sleep (even though I don't think she was that hungry??).

So, it's still very up and down.
