How to safeguard my children

Okay hopefully someone may be able to help. I am actually not too bad on the computer when it comes to apps and programmes but want to make sure this is done right as I really dont want trial and error with the children. The home pc - both my children have profiles, and whilst DS who is six is quite happy with the four or five websites I have chosen for him, my DD who is 8 is not!! She wants to be able to surf the net and I am uneasy about her roaming on the net unaided. All I have done so far is actually picked websites (Cbeebies, nick, disney etc) and turned the rest off. I get a parent activity report to show what they are doing. However I have found that some of the websites I have picked, especially the disney ones, wont let her click on certain tabs as the corresponding web address is not on the list. All I want to do is ensure the web is child friendly when they are on their profiles so that they only get onto age appropriate sites. Please help!!!

Have you had a look on here for advice?

Also there are various programs available for parents to download which you might find useful.
