Parenting managable - minus inlaws

I seem to plod along fine with three children under four years. We have never had any help from inlaws (babysitting etc) let alone a nappy being changed... this is a stark contrast to their support for other grandchildren whom they are simply great with. We never know when they are local (live 50 miles away) until they are outside our house phoning asking where we are..? When asked to give us some notice - reply was why do we need an appointment?

We get the comments of 'you will have your work cut out for you' etc never supportive or encouraging. They turn up 20 mins before childrens bedtime - wire up the kids and disappear... 'better let you get on with it'

My issue is that I am anxious as I never know when they will show up to our home - I am expecting DC4 and have requested home visitors only as with previous births - only to have the curtains twitching in the hospital EVERY time - I am adamant this wont happen this time and have DH onside and have told MIL this too but know what will happen...Hmm

Feel I have very little control in general...

Shock.

Don't tell them when you are in labour for a start Smile. If they won't recpect your wishes then keep them in the dark.
