Sometimes I wish I could choose my DCs friends for them...

I know which ones I would pick already

But instead I have children who are magnetically drawn to the children who bring out the naughtiness/cheekiness/wildness in them

(Am not blaming others for this, btw. My DC are more than capable of making their own mischief, its just that the calmer types bring out the calmer aspects of their personalities)

Do your DC have friends that you 'disapprove' of (for want of a better word - YKWIM)

Not disapprove, as such, but dd1 is headstrong, to put it mildly. As are her friends. She always comes home telling me no-one is x's friend and they wouldn't sit with her at lunch. She needs a new coat because hers is the wrong colour so noone will play with her. They told B she was ugly today.

They sound like a pack of little witches, imo. I just wish they would be nicer to each other. Considering they reckon they are friends.

My dc go to the same school I teach in. This means I really know alot about any children they become friends with. Far too much probably! I know I am gulity of trying to stear them away from certain children!

That must be tricky, working in the school your DC attend

I can't say I've ever tried to 'put them off' certain kids. But DD1 in particular has a friend who I just know will be hard work as time goes on

But what can you do? You can't orchestrate their friendships

I know how you feel, my ds (5) has this one friend who can be a bit nasty and they just don't bring the best out in each other. I have tried having other boys round for tea, but they are just drawn to each other so I have given up for the moment!!!
