baby vomits up formula

I've been weaning my lo (8 mo) for 4 months now. She eats brilliantly, and really enjoys her food. Until last weekend she's been bf less and less, until it got to the point where she only fed at night. The last three nights she's gone through the night without a feed, so has basically weaned herself.

I've started giving her a bottle of formula after breakfast and a bottle at bedtime, which she takes about 3 or 4 oz of. She has milk in cereals, eats yoghurt and cheese at lunch and dinner, so gets plenty of dairy. But she's vomiting up most, if not all of the formula feed almost straight away. I don't want to go back to bf in the day- we're both ready to give it up and she doesn't seem to miss the boob iyswim. I've been using hipp organic follow on milk.

I'm a total novice with the formula, she was ebf until weaning and this is the first time I've used it. I'm giving it at body temp and feeding her in the same position as boob. She doesn't vomit up her juice or water from the same cup either.

Help! What am I doing wrong? And does she really need formula if her diet is varied? Hv said I could use cows milk but I wanted her to get the vitamins formula offers. Any ideas?

DD started bringing up her formula (she was FF from birth) at around 6 months and we eventually figured out it was because we were still feeding her laying back in our arms rather than sitting up (iyswim). Could this be the reason?

could be indeed! Thanks for that.
