Both my DC's had/have reflux.
DS had it for first 14 months of life then it completely went. Around xmas last yr I noticed I could hear backwash coming up after drinking water etc.
Ive monitered it for last year and it's getting gradually worse, happening much more often and he was actually sick down himself after running around at his football class
.
I didn't want to go to doctors at first because their answer to everything is put them on meds. He was on Omeprazole and Domperidon as a baby, the side effects are that it hinders the absorbtion of iron and one of the signs is nails growing spoon shaped in the way as his toenails do.
Lack of Iron as a growing baby and toddler isnt good, it's for bone and brain development as we keep being told.
He is very small for his age and I really feel guilty/sad that it might have had a detromental effect.
On the other hand, I can't leave him getting worst as it might be damaging his oesophagas.
Ive made an appointment on Wednesday.
My 10 month old DD has it too
. I keep wondering why my kids have this, what did I eat/do wrong when PG which of course is stupid but we mums like to beat ourselves up a bit!
HAs anyone had experience of this happening to their older DC's and does this mean it's for life since it's came back and got worse.
