What Tog duvet for a 2.6 year old?

We have just bought a full size single bed for our DD who is 2.6.At the moment she's in a toddler bed with a 4.5 duvet and we need to get her a new full size duvet.

Just wondered what Tog people have on their kids beds? Her 4.5 seems very thin but obviously don't want to overheat her.

We have central heating and the house isn't freezing although no heating or low on in her bedroom.
Many Thanks.

Don't be tempted to get more than a 4 tog duvet. That is plenty warm enough all year.
Get a synthetic one that goes in the washing machine too. John Lewis ones are great.

Hi Mumcah. We've just put our DD into her big girls bed and I bought an all seasons duvet from IKEA. Its two quilts, one 4.5 and one 7.5 which stuck together make a 12 tog. We are just using the 4.5 tog, with a fleece blanket, and will put more blankets on if she wakes up cold. The 4.5 tog and blanket seems to be working fine, she is plenty warm, despite no heating and the window being locked slightly open so there is fresh air circulating. Oh, and we live in Scotland! I bought an all seasons so that this quilt will do as she gets older too, and the spare 7.5 will be useful for the inevitable throwing up episode in the middle of the night.

We have the child size 4.5 tog duvets here too and they seem fine all year round in my opinion.

mine have 4.5tog in the summer and 10.5tog when it gets colder (we are in Scotland!). The maximum recommended tog for a full size single bed is 10.5tog with the maximum for a toddler bed being 4.5tog. We are still all currently under 4.5tog duvets but it might be getting close to dh having to go up the loft to get the heavier ones down.
