Hubby leaves at 7 back usually at 8 works hard. Meanwhile I get pretty much all the childcare domestics and general crap jobs. It's driving me mad- feeling v resentful. I like the childcare most of the time but all the rest of it... Few part grime jobs in my area of work so not easy way out

Go back fulltime?
Go to the gym and put dc in the crèche for some me time?
Go out one evening a week with your mates for a really good laugh
get out the house at least once every day to toddlers, library, swimming etc

Well first of all you shouldn't be doing pretty much all the domestic work. You should be doing as much as you can while DH is at work... if there are jobs left over in the evening (or jobs that can only be done in the evening eg DC bedtime, dinner) then those should be shared.

It does sound though as if your issue is more boredom with being a SAHM rather than fact DH doesn't pull his weight. Would you be able to do a full time job or would childcare costs be too much? Maybe in a year or three once DC are at school? Is there something you could do from home - look through the work sections on MN for working from home ideas. Volunteering perhaps (again, once DCs are in nursery or school)?

What was your area of work?

I do sympathise by the way Sad

Hi

I worked in international development - worked on some exciting stuff and I miss it. Wasn't able to continue working part time. I don't want to work full time - my mum wasn't always around when I was a kid and don't want to do the same. Think I'll do some voluntary work when time permits. It's brain work I miss. You are right "minipie" - I'm just a bit bored - not always easy to admit...
