Glasses for a 3Yo

My 3.5 Yo son needs glasses, apparently he has inhrited his longsite from me. He has taken really well to wearing them - i think he forgets about them. My issue is that I was bullied really badly all through school for wearing glasses. I dreaded the bus home as they would be passed around for everyone to try on or even get thrown out of the window and I would have to find them later. I feel for him and prey that this does not happen to him. Maybe it is more accepted now? Does anyone have experience of their child in the same situation

Both of my children wear glasses, DS for 6 years (he's now 10) and DD for 3 years (she's now 8). My son has only had a few incidences of glasses being snatched, none as bad as you describe, and my daughter hasn't experienced it at all. Both children have had friends admire their glasses and say they want to get some of their own!

Glasses for children are so much nicer now and attitudes have improved I think, not just to wearing glasses but regarding bullying too. Hopefully your son will be fine too.

dd has had glasses since she was 18 months (now nearly 7years old) and hasnt had any issues at school. She wears cool Hannah Montana ones. I have noticed loads of kids wear glasses now so it is not such a stigmna.

My seven year old has been wearing them since he was three - never had any bother.
