Does anyone have experience or knowledge of tethered spinal cord. A recent MRI scan shows my 3 year old daughter has a tethered spinal cord, we are awaiting referral to neurosurgery to discuss surgery options. She also has developmental delay for motor skills of 1 year, 1 year speech & language delay and presents as child with mild cerebal palsy. We are currently going through statutory assessment for SN.

Hi
Sorry i have no experince of tethered spinal cords bt my son who is 11 months old was born with many problems - failure to thrive, Large Atrial Septal Defect, Low set ears, to name a few, which are all ongoing and we are hoping to get an mri scan done on him very soon to look into the possibility that he has mild CP. He also has developmental delay. As i said hes 11 months bt has only just began batting at toys. hes never laughed or babbled and isnt sitting. I find him very hard to communicate with as hes very much like a 3 month old.
Finding it all very hard to deal with. Hoping as he grows everything will improve. Hope you find help with you problem x
