Hello

I went and saw the FLIP nappies today at a fab shop called Nappy Ever after, in Euston.

I'm planning to use them from brith.... how many wraps do you think I'll need? How often do you change newborns nappies - about 8-10 times a day???

Thanks
Hayley

Hi Hayley
Newborns can poo a lot! I would go for 12 wraps minimum with 20 inserts (probably a mixture of the stay dry and the organic ones) The organic ones will take longer to dry but will last longer in the nappy and the stay dry are quick to dry but don't hold so much wee.
Some people reckon you shouldn't buy a whole set of anything until you have tried them out but there is a good resale value on all bumgenius products so if they don't work out for you or suit your baby you can always sell them on. There is a board here for selling nappies and I have bought (but not sold) from the Cloth Nappy Tree.
Good luck

Hello, just wanted to add that you can use muslins as the inserts in the Flip covers which are less bulky for a newborn.

And congratulations!

Congratulations :)

I love my Flips so much. I used them from 3 weeks on my tiny 6lber. I have 8 wraps, 20 stay dry inserts, and 6 organic and it's waaaay more than enough.

I wipe the wrap dry and put a new insert in unless he's pooed- which by about 6 weeks settled down to 1 a day. So I only use 2 wraps a day.

When he was smaller and pooing more sometimes i'd handwash the wrap, let it air dry and it'd be ready to go and dry on an airer within 2 hours.
