Really clingy toddler

I am 31 weeks with DC2 and DS1 has become so so clingy. He screams everytime I go out of sight, can't even have a pee on my own. He won't go to DH without crying and then asking constantly were I am and he won't stay with friends without screaming when I leave. He's started at pre school this month as wanted to get him settled before DC2 arrives in late December and he screams and cries when I leave, but fine after I've gone but the whole crying/ my leaving is so exhausting for both of us.
Sorry for the rant but it's driving me bonkers. Is there anything that I can do to make life easier for both of us? Does anyone know if this stops when DC2 arrives?
