DS aged 3, playing up tonight when I was getting him ready for bed. Gave warnings - if you don't do this/stop that by the time i count to 3 it will be the naughty corner. I told him if he was naughty again he'd get no bedtime stories, no hair tickling and no talking about his day and no tucking in. Put him in naughty corner and then he tussled with me and hit me. So I followed through.
Sounds ridiculous but it was heartbreaking. He loves his stories so much and it feels so hideous to ban something that is so worthwhile and wholesome! Anyway, I explained to him that this was a lesson and he had to learn that what mummy says I mean.
He promised never to hit again ever! (yeah right!) and he said that he was going to dream about not hitting....bless!
Has fallen asleep really quickly - amazingly!
