Help - slight pink stain around poop on nappy

This is going to sound really odd, I know but... DS (age 11 weeks tomorrow) has had diarrhea for the past couple of days. Started out as khakhi green and is gradually getting more of its usual mustard yellow colour (he's breast-fed). He has, today, also started to get back to his usual eating pattern and is in fact making up for lost time. So he's doing about a poop an hour. This wasn't really worrying me - he's just getting over a cold and I can see a tooth bobbing up (HV says it'll bob up and down a few times before he actually cuts it). Anyway, what IS bothering me is the v. light pink stain that develops around the poop on his (Tot Bots) nappy. I don't think it's urates becuase it definitely only comes around the poop, not all over as you'd expect if it were to do with his urine. He is producing wet as well as dirty nappies though. It's as if the pink seeps out of teh poop over a few minutes once I take teh nappy off. HV is mystified and I expect I'll be going to the doctor tomorrow but if anybody else has experienced this, I'd love to hear from you.
