Can you get an extension?! Call the projects and assessment people quick!

Sending work-vibes your way...

I thought I had it bad with 5 days and 4,000 words.

AlgebraKnocksItUpANotchBAM · 02/10/2010 08:43

are you an OUer? my tutor was very reasonable with extensions.

KatyMac · 02/10/2010 08:55

Yes it's OU; but ECAs are different

I'm writing to OU atm but which is more important writing to them or doing the work?

Honestly I would call them. Except it's Saturday :s But they might be open? And it will take 5 mins and they can hopefully sort it.

I did - I have to write an email to a specific address

"I am writing to inform you about circumstances that have caused me to make this request for an extension.

My husband, DH, has been admitted to Papworth Hospital for treatment as he has a long-term severe lung complaint and he is likely to be in hospital receiving treatment for about 14 days. He is in Papworth which is approx 100 miles from my home and I have the triple problems of visiting him regularly, meeting my business commitments & getting through my OU work. Hopefully I will not require this concession but it seems prudent to make the request.

I am currently collating evidence of this (hopefully a letter from the hospital and/or one from my GP).

Is it possible to have an extension?"

Does that work??

Then I have an E39 to send I thought I would write tn too I the same on that

Should I write something about DH & I being self-employed & me having to do his work too? that seems a bit Hmm

I would shove it all in. Good luck.

HSMM · 02/10/2010 09:40

I think the fact that you have mentioned your business commitments should cover it. Good luck. It's bad enough trying to write an ECA without additional pressure. Remember to take care of yourself as well.

The nurse at the hospital was lovely - she wrote a fab letter for me & DH's doctor said if that wasn't enough she would write something to the OU people directly

Some people are just so nice

I'm struggling with my ECA and I have none of the stress you have. I'm so pleased you're getting support from the hospital. I hope the OU support you as well.

KatyMac · 03/10/2010 19:35

Thanks Sandstorm it's been a horrid weekend & leaving him was horrid

Katy - Was just wondering how you, hubby and your family are getting on? Was the OU sympathetic (have you even heard from them yet?).

KatyMac · 09/10/2010 10:19

Hubby is home
I have a 3 week extension
I have a form to fill in (I needed evidence so I can only just send it today) to tell them I'm stressed

& I'm about to start again
