My 18 month old DS has always been very confident and outgoing - he's been at nursery for a year (3 days a week) and has always loved it, all smiles when we arrive, never any trouble leaving him etc.
The last few days he has been been a bit clingy on the way to nursery, but not at any other time. We've started walking to nursery instead of using the buggy and he's demanding to be carried and cuddling me on the way whereas before he's always been very (very!) independent and insisted on walking himself. Then when I left him today he screamed and cried and he's never done that before.
They also tell me that he's started hitting other children and pulling hair. Again, he never does this at home - we spent the whole weekend with his cousins - one is two months younger than him, the other 4 years old and disbaled so like a very large baby IYSWIM and there was none of that. Nursery are dealing with it by removing him and telling him no, calming him down etc. which I am happy with.
He is due to go up to the toddler room soon - perhaps he's feeling frustrated being in with the babies still? A couple of very young ones have just started. I'd be grateful for advice as this doesn't seem like a phase, more like a problem related to nursery.
Thanks
