need some reassurance about dd friendships- when do they happen?

my dd1 is 2yr9 months, she has always gone to playgroups and has made three friends there, i was good friends with their moms through playgroup.

she has now started preschool and so have the other children but different ones, we all have clashes of mornings, afternoons etc.

i was particularly close to one mom who was a sahm too but she has seemed to have moved on with a new group of friends and i don't get invited anymore. We used to see each other 3 times a week and my dd was very good friends with hers.

i am feeling really down about my dd not seeing this friend anymore and also the lack of other friends in her life, does this come later on when she starts school/nursery?

i know i seem really needy etc but i have a good group of non mommy friends and i know i can go out and make new friends just feel worried that my little girl isn't having that close friendship anymore...

Hi, I think about age 4 mine started to make their own friends. I really wouldn't worry. Before then they seem to just play alongside one another and can be quite happy at nursery just doing that. It doesn't take at all long to get to know the mums and dcs at pre-school. Just give it some time.

She will chop and change friends all through her school life,don't worry

thank you ladies, it kept me awake last night, i am a worrier, but i just don't want to do her an injustice thats all. i socialise both my girls during the week but i just didn't know whether i was meant to be inviting people round, its hard being the only one at home with kids in my circle of friends, i have a fab group of girls mates but they work during the week and don't quite grasp the baby thing just yet. It just feels so forced when i meet other moms but i've never been good at meeting people, i've had the same friends since i was 10 so thats 20 years!!!!!
