How to wash a small bottom when using a bath seat

So I've just started to use one of those swivel suction bath seat thingys for my 7 mo DS. We used to bathe together and it was easy to get to all his bits then, but due to cold bathroom and pending winter I've moved to the bath seat as it lets me warm and dry him quicker after the bath.

Only trouble is I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get to his bum to wash it, as he's sat on it. He's too heavy & slippery for me to lift clear and clean whilst leaning over the bath... is this the only way or have other parents devised new ways of bum washing...?

When I used one of those for my son, I would lean him forward in the seat and just wiggle my hand between his bottom and the bottom of the seat and then lean him back to do the front.

Or you could do that last, removing him from the seat, sitting him on the bottom of the tub holding onto him with one hand and washing him with the other.

I'll give it a go! Thanks for the reply Smile
