Am I being negligent?

DD is 12 months. Put her down for her nap this afternoon and after about 10 minutes heard a loud crash so went running upstairs.

Found DD had fallen/climbed out of her cot Shock and was flat out on her back on the floor screaming! Managed to calm her down and had a good look at her, there are no marks or bumps on her head or anywhere else. She is alert and crawling about playing.

Basically she seems fine but just spoke to a friend who said that I really should take her to A&E to get her checked over.

Don't know what to do!?

I think if you are in any doubt get her checked. Then you can come home and forget about it rather than worrying for the next few days minimum. Smile

Personally I'd take her-sounds like she's fine so most likely you'll get sent straight home again, but worth getting checked just in case of head injury

Ok, thanks guys

How is your dd memoo? I'm sure she's fine but guess a and e is always worth a visit if you're not sure.

Just wanted to say no you are not negligent. Accidents happen and that wasn't your fault. But uh oh, time for a bed for dd, that's when the fun times begin!

Time to get her in a bed!

12 months is earlier though, had you lowered the cot?

memoo · 27/09/2010 22:42

Hi, got her checked out and she is fine.

Yep we had lower the cot, have no idea how she managed to do it, she is a real monkey though always trying to climb up things.

My elder 2 DC were never like this, think she is going to be the one that sends me over the edge! Grin

Right, that's "lower cot" added to my weekly to do list!
