Hi everyone,

I'm new to reusables and I've just been given a lot of used motherease nappies from a friend. They're terry like cloth ones but seem really rough. I don't want to seem ungrateful, but they are really quite scratchy. Does anyone know a way to soften them, or are these destined for the 'super present! thanks for the gift- section of the cupboard'?

If you have a tumble dryer you could try giving them a tumble. that might help.

Tumble dryer - brill. Soda crystals are fab for softening crunchy nappies too. Rainwater can help too.

Thanks both!!!

Rainwater works, also white vinegar in the conditioner drawer of your washer. My washer broke last week and for the first time ever i used a tumble dryer on my nappies as i had to go to launderette. Couldnt believe how soft they were! Might treat her to a tumble dry once per mth haha.

thanks beachybums. I'll try the vinegar as well. I also don't have a tumbledryer but might head off to the laundrette :)
