When I had my DD I met quite a few mothers with young children and we all bonded and met up regularly for coffees, walks etc.but now have all just about gone our own seperate ways due to people working, children at nurseries or starting different schools.
There has been a fall out also, one person causing a lot of trouble between the group, telling lies etc.
It is coming up to my DD's birthday and in the past I have had big parties at my house for all of these children, plus other children, friend's children and family children etc.
Anyway, last year there were too many children for my house so I decided that this year I would have one at an outside venue, renting a room etc. but with the recent fall out with the mums and with us not really seeing each other I thought that actually I would save the hassle and expense and have a little tea party (which my daughter would enjoy more than a big do) at home with DD, her cousin and a few of her local friends, no more than 5 and just a little tea party.
My new dilemma is that she started school last week so I wondered if I should invite the four people from her class, is that the done thing when at school or would it be acceptable to stick to the five family and friends at the party and not mention it to the school.
