I think they are just to stop poo floating off, spod.

Pixiefish · 03/09/2005 22:39

designed to hold the poo in, not the wee

Ameriscot2005 · 03/09/2005 22:40

I've only use disposables, which are designed to hold only the poo. They have no gel, and the wee just passes through.

I cannot imagine how washables could hold wee in.

I used Swim Nappies for 2 days (and night ) with DS2 about 2 weeks ago.

They didn't leak at all during the day - but I wouldn't advise them at night LOL.

No, they are not supposed to hold wee ( which incidently I found out after dd weed on me while wearing one...). They are only supposed to hold poo, but not wee, that's why they don't swell up in water like disposables.

I also tested them before putting one on him by tipping a mug full of water into one - it didn't leak through either

misdee · 03/09/2005 22:41

they just contain the poo. unfortunaly my dd1 did do a poo in a swim nappy once just after we got out of the pool, and it was horrid cleaning her as the nappy had a poo and loads of pool water in it, [shudder] it was bleeeeeugh.

Ameriscot2005 · 03/09/2005 22:43

They will hold a mug of water from dry, QoQ. But when you go in the pool, they get saturated and if you tried your mug test, the water would pour right through.

well that's ok Ameriscot - he wasn't going in any water with them on - just wearing them as normal nappies (and if he had gone in water I would have put a dry nappy on afterwards - honest )

Ameriscot2005 · 03/09/2005 22:48

Was that planned, QoQ, or did you just run out of proper nappies?

QueenOfQuotes · 03/09/2005 22:49

no definitely not planned - I was going to sell the 2 packs of Swim Nappies on Ebay (I won them and never go swimming LOL). It was a case of Swim Nappies or some early potty training for DS2 LOL

Ameriscot2005 · 03/09/2005 22:50

There's a market on Ebay??? Does it justify the P&P?

QueenOfQuotes · 03/09/2005 22:54

well they didn't cost me anything, and P&P wouldn't have been very expensive (probably about £1.40 or so) - there's a few packs on there ATM.
