My dd is wonderful; funny, payful, affectionate and sweet BUT

She is also very wilful, stubborn and determined and this causes massess of tantrums. They are getting worse. The other night she had the mother of all tantrums because i took her upstairs for bed. how do i deal with this ? I'm worn out.

Also we cannot walk in a straight line. She has to run backwards, sideways, hiding etc, etc. It' scute but a permant power struggle.

Um. Not much to offer by way of help, sorry, but didn't want to leave you unreplied. How old is your DD? Mine's nearly 2, and distraction is still working here - making up silly songs about whatever it is we're doing/about to do is my first resort - but sure she'll get wise to that soon... If your DD is getting cross about going upstairs to bed, could you focus on something else than bed to get her upstairs, like stories or something? DD isn't always keen on going for a bath/bed, but if we tell her we're going upstairs to play with the bubbles (as in we have a bubble wand tub thingy we use to blow bubbles at her while she's in the bath) then she's more likely to come willingly. Not always, mind, overtiredness tends to make it a royal battle regardless...
