Feeding a sleepy baby

Hi, Im new today, and this is my first post.

I have a 6 week old baby girl who is relatively good (so im told, have nothing to compare it to really)

the thing is she is sleeping well at night but still waking every 3 hours to feed (and has a nappy change and a thorough winding session else she spits up a lot) im sure she would sleep longer if i could top her up quite a bit before i go to bed (shes on formula now after breast feeding till week 4). however even on her main feeds she sometimes falls asleep half way through her bottle and even if i do manage to wake her she then isnt interested anymore and wont take anymore. this sometimes results in her waking up again maybe 2 hours later starving hungry again.

its not too much of a problem during the day as shes my only baby and i dont mind really, but i would really like to as i say top her up before bed to encourage her to sleep slightly longer through the night, or even sometimes just make sure she finishes her entire meal at the right time.

any ideas??

ps.she has no trouble draining her bottles when she is fully awake so it isnt a quantity issue, or that its too much milk for her to take.

Thankyou in advance for any replies x

no ideas i'm afraid except to say she is perfectly normal and doing exactly what a tiny baby is supposed to do!

her tummy is tiny. she can only fit a little bit in at a time. if she falls asleep mid-feed and isn't interested that's ok, that means she has had enough

it really is absolutely normal for her to be feeding every 2-3 hours at this age
