say No or No biting

do not squeal or react in pain

and put him down for a minute and ignore him

bite him back and teach him that biting is ok cos grown-ups do it .. and .. this is a fun game that mummy and I play .. very very bad idea

mumtosomeone · 02/09/2005 08:17

I nanied for a little girl and she would bite her baby brother!!! Idid bite her and fessed up to parents!! She never did it again!

ds went through a stage of biting every feed and as twiglett said I took him off, told him no biting and put him down, as you know he is a boy who likes his boob so he figured it out pretty quick.

mumtosomeone · 02/09/2005 08:21

he doesnt do it while feeding!!

Sometimes he does it when he kisses so he bites my lip!
or he crawls up to me and bites my leg!!
He doesnt bite anyone else!!!

hmm, same theory I think even though I think he is probably trying to be affectionate, I would still say biting hurts and remove him from your proximity for a little while, when he is cuddling nicely without biting give him lots of praise and attention and make a big deal out of how gentle he is being and how much you like gentle cuddles etc etc

mumtosomeone · 02/09/2005 08:28

he isnt 1 yet!!
But thats pretty much what I do anyway!!

my ds is just 1 and has been known to be found chowing down on my arm, persistence and consistency did work for him.

mumtosomeone · 02/09/2005 10:48

can forgive him anything as he is so cute!!
