Basically my H has decided (whether I support the idea or not) that he is going off to Uni next year (sept 11). He will have to live away from home as the Uni of choice is in south london/kent and we are in east anglia (and no, i have no wish to relocate).
I have just lost my job (loooong story) and was sole breadwinner so we are currently putting a claim in for couple rate JSA, tax credits etc etc.
As soon as I have got my head round all this I will start looking for a job which will work with childcare (difficult as I won't be able to do a lot of weekends etc as His Nibs won't be here)
If I am unsuccessful in finding suitable(ish) employment, what will we be able to claim etc etc? My DD is 13 months if that helps. thankyou all in advancexx

Blimey, WTF! Am very nearly without words!

How is he paying for uni (fees and accommodation)? Is he expecting you to support him? Couldn't he have applied to your local university, or the OU?

Sorry I don't have any useful advice, but surely the obvious thing is that he just shouldn't do it - at least, not now and not in this way!

Sorry but why can't he be there at weekends? He has a child FFS, she is his responsibility too! This should be on the AIBU thread. Tell him to grow up - quickly. Angry

But good luck. It sounds like you need it, and a very big hug too.
