Hey everyone,

Newbie here waves I'm really glad to be here :) and thought I'd dive in with a light hearted thread. I'd love you all to add your own:

I've finally accepted...

my house will never look like something from the Ikea catalogue

I will never be a size 12

My husband will never be as slim as he was when we met

I will always echo the worst aspects of my mother when I'm cross with the kids

Well done!!

Welcome Rhiannon, you know you can't escape now right? Smile

Oh, you are in the same bit of earth as me Wink Don't forget to check out the local boards, they are up at the top of the page somewhere.

Hey guys

Thanks for the very warm welcome. Yes, I have been well and truly sucked in already!

My DS is 7 (8 very soon OML!) and my DD is 4 and starts school on Tuesday Sad.

hello Smile

I echo the worst aspects of my mother too Blush. And then I am too embarassed to see her for a couple of days because she reminds me of these aspects of myself and it makes me all uncomfortable.

So long as I don't start wearing hotter shoes I won't worry too much.

Rhiannonthescribbler · 03/09/2010 21:20

Hotter shoes?

Hello Grin

Besom · 03/09/2010 21:32

Hello!

That I'm never going to stick at going to a gym (or any other kind of exercise) for more than a fortnight.

That I'll probably never be fluent in Italian.

That I'm forty next year. (Wait, no, I haven't actually accepted that one yet).

Rhiannonthescribbler · 03/09/2010 21:33

Hello HibernoCaledonian

Just looked at your profile- Team Edward or Jacob? Wink Or is that like asking you to choose between one of your kids? Lol. I know it is for me!

Great name besom! Any witchy connection?

I have just joined my local gym and if I see another carrot stick I swear I'll scream!

Greetings Grin

I actually said to DS today when he pulled a face: "carefull your face might stay like that" My mum was there too. In fact I think my mum has become me (fun cool and youthful) and I have become her (naggy and old).

Besom · 03/09/2010 21:55

Not particularly witchy (although my dh might say otherwise) - it's what Scottish people call their daughters when they're being obstreperous, mischievous or cheeky. (Not that I'm any of these things myself.)
