Very confused mealtimes and naps for my 8 month old DD. She's had weight gain issues for which she's been prescribed special formula milk with lots of extra calories.

She doesn't eat the same amount in each feed and varies as to what time she wakes up each day which is very tiring. How can i get her to wake up more consistently? And are h times i'm feeding her totally different to what's normal? She tends to wake at 5 more often than not.

Yesterday:

5am wake up - feed abut 100mls
6.30/7 wake up breakfast (maybe) and about 50mls milk
9 nap for maybe 30/40 mins
10.30 feed 120mls
12.15 Nap till 13.35
13.45 Lunch which she didn't want followed by 120b mls milk
16.00 nap for 40 mins
17.00 Tea and water
18.40 milk 140 mls
19.00 sleep
23.00 200 mls milk

Day before:
5.30 wake - so i treated it as a day feed brought her downstairs and gave her breakfast she did have some folowed by milk - 90mls
8.00 nap till 9.20
9.30 milk 120mls
11.45 nap till 13.10
13.20 lunch followed by milk 90mls
13.30 nap till 16.00
16.30 tea
18.10 milk 130mls
18.30 bed
23.00 milk 20 mls

Hi Liskey, tbh what you're doing sounds fine to me. I have an 11 month old DD and her daytime meals and naps are a bit erratic too. she also go to bed at about 7pm and sleeps through til anywhere between 5am and 7am. It was just a month ago that we were able to stop giving her a feed at 11pm.

I do have two older dc too and my experience has taught me that they do eventually settle into a rough routine but try not to worry about it too much. Your DD sounds very normal to me and you sound like you're doing a fab job. I know its hard but try to just go with the flow.

I'm not sure about the weight gain though its perfectly normal for her to refuse meals sometimes and eat different amounts each time. I remember worrying so much with my first DC because some times she hardly seemed to eat much all day. As long as she's taking her milk though I'm sure its fine.
