7 week growth spurt?

Is there a 7 week growth spurt I didnt know was about to happen? Last 24 hours ds has been so unsettled and only seems happy when he is feeding. He cant seem to get into a deep sleep very well. Will only fall sleep on me. Is the best thing to do just stay in bed feed on demand and ignore the hoovering and housework? This is my theory anyhow. I'm not worried just feel bad I didnt know it was coming. How long do these growth spurts last? Tia. Yes i am a first timer :)

yep completely normal - people will tell you there is a 6 week growth spurt but for DD2 it happened around 7 weeks. Just put your feet up and feed him and it will be over in a day or 2 - great excuse to ignore the housework Grin

thank you :) we were doing so well i could put him down once he was asleep. Was planning on putting him sleepy and patting him off. This has all currently gone out the window. Babies are so confusing. You think you are begining to understand them then they confuse you all over again. They must have forgotten to give me the instruction manual 7 weeks ago. Grin Staying in bed it is. Dp may get buried under the washing pile. Oh well!

ah, welcome to the world of babies they are confusing little mites! If it helps, DD2 settled down and now at 9 weeks goes a lot longer between feeds Smile

Hi thislittlesisterlola, ds2 has just been through a big ole growth spurt from 7 to 9 weeks ( sorry if that sounds daunting!) Apparently he failed to read the textbook which says they should happen at 6 and 12 weeks and last only a couple of days... Knackering, but on the upside gis head's about twice as big and he's leapt up a centile on the dreaded growth chart. Yep stay in bed all day, doze when you can and don't even think about housework etc. (btw ds's sleep has settled down again now at 10 weeks) Good luck
