Hi,

I am about to move from Oxfordshire to Hexham and wondered whether there are any mums out there who can give me insider info about baby groups. I have a six-month-old and I'd love to take her to signing, music, swimming, etc.

Hi Sappholit

I am also NE based and can totally recommend the Under 5s music making groups at the Sage in Gateshead. Not too far from Hexham, and worth the journey IMO. I've been taking DS since he was 10 months (now 16 months) and he loooves it.

Classes run every weekday at 9:45 and 11:00 and are fab. Lots of songs, little instruments for the babies to eat play, and a good way to meet other mums. Also a fab cafe Smile

Hope your move goes well!

Piccallo seems a very popular group in the NE. There's a nice leisure pool in Prudohe.

And there's Waitrose in Hexham. There you go, sorted Grin

Singing babies is supposed to be brilliant for that age range, it is run by two trained musicians. don't think there is a website, but the phone number is 01434 682040, I believe the first session is free too!

My other advice would be to get a copy of "Raring 2 go- Tynedale" once you get to hexham, there is so much advertised in there for Hexham that you could be busy every day of the week! (no I'm not on commission for either!)

Hey Sappholit ! I'm in Hexham. I only have a 7yr DS, but am friends with lots of Mums with younger kids.

My DS did Singing Babies and loved it. There is quite a lot to do with younger children in Hexham, but it's great having Newcastle so close by.

We have a lovely new swimming pool, there is loads of out door space.

Get in touch if you need anymore information.

Hi - we are in Newcastle and there is loads here for pre-schoolers if you wanted to travel. "Get your tots out" is a good guide which I think you can download online.

Yes I would second the Sage music group and Picollo as being great for babies.
