Hi

I wondered what MNers thought of flip nappies? Pros and cons really? I personally liked the look of the disposable inserts - cos I thought they might be good for travelling/holidays... but would like to hear any Flip users thoughts please.

Thanks :)

I've been using Flip nappies since the start of the year and love them. I either use the stay-dry inserts or some pre-folds when I run out. Now dd is nearly a year old I stick a booster under the stay-dry pad to get a bit more out of them. The wraps are lovely and wash really well. The only thing I would say is that the flip wraps are not great over shaped nappies. I had to buy something different to fit over the couple of motherease one-size I acquired. Also with breastmilk runny poo you do tend to have to change the wrap with every poo but once it all firms up you can use a paper liner and re-use the wrap. The econobum wraps are also great if you need a few extras to use with the flip inserts.

completely forgot to answer your question - Blush. Sorry to now rain on your parade but the disposable inserts are crap Sad I bought 3 packs and have barely used them, the pads are very thin and narrow and only last an hour or so. They also bunch up and heaven forbid if your baby poos in them!

I wouldn't bother with the disposable inserts - they are expensive and need proper conditions to be biodegradable and so are no greener than a disposable nappy when thrown away as normal. I love our flips and use predominantly the organic inserts which are fabulous. I also have the stay dry ones which are good for when we are at home as they need changing more often - having said that mine have never leaked at all.

I have some stay drt inserts and the folded organics, Prefer organics as last longer.
I bought a box of disposables but didn't last too long and the stay dry liners were great fro when away as just wash and leave out to dry-in hot country were dry in couple of hours..
I use two stay dry ones at night too.
