Hi

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which two part shaped nappy system is the best? Am 36 weeks pregnant and even an easy decision is too much for me at the mo so some help would be appreciated!

easy peasy bumbles and motherease air flow wraps.

other nappy suggestion is bambinex bamboo size 2 nippa nappy.

I would strongly recommend buying your nappies 2nd hand to try them out - that way it can be cost affect to buy some size 1 nappies which do give a trimmer fit and then upgrade to size 2 ones.

I found bambinex bamboo and bumbles absolutely great as birth to potty nappies but I had 10lb babies..........

I love motherease

little lambs are the best IMO or good old terry squares

Another question - if I got sized nappies how long would I expect a small or size 1 nappy to last? And when can you use a size 2 nappy from?

I use Lollipop softees for my 5 month old dd, & we've been very happy with them, never leak, & dry super fast. The size 1 has the booster separate, which is to make it slimmer for a newborn, but still haven't found I need to use this, except overnight. They were on the bulky side to start with, but she was pretty small when born. As far as the size 1 goes, they're supposed to last until around 9 months, which I would estimate now would be quite accurate. They're nice and fluffy even when air dried too.

size 1s are usually up to 16lbs and size 2s from 14lbs - I think.

Bumbles folded down really really well, you took out the inner and folded it in itself, then I use thin flanette boosters for a few weeks and then used one of the bumbles boosters for a while - I used the boosters between the nappy and the wrap when baby was still little as it gave a better fit.

I really like the new Tots Bots stretchy bamboozles - they are such a huuuuuuge improvement on any of the fitteds DS1 was in (he's now six). DS3 is a very lucky boy.

For wraps, Airflows are not pretty but are quite unbeatable on performance. Weenotions wraps are similar but much easier on the eye. I'm a big fan of fleece and wool covers. (And I'm a big fan of pocket nappies and all-in-ones.)

I second cargirl - Bumbles plus motherease wraps, I use the Rikki (velcro type fastening) though. Dull but practically bomb proof. Mine are 20 months into the second child and looking worn but working well.

Plenty of time to venture into the pretty stuff once baby has arrived. I used them from about 8 weeks IIRC, had slow recovery from EMCS both times so didn't rush in, it also saved me needing tiny nappies for my smallish babies.

I used the Bambinex Size 2 Nippas like Cargirl suggested. You fold down the front to make them small enough for newborns (though we used disposables and folded muslins for the first 8 weeks or so). They are very thirsty and come with an extra booster for nights.

Can't beat Motherease airflows for wraps.

Bumbles were the only things that worked with my mega heavy wetter super wee'r dd so anything else was wated money on her!

My other top tip about bumbles is don't tumble dry them!

You could buy eco bumbles and get bamboo booster that unfold as that would make them slimmer fitting for the absorbancy and still fairly quick drying is the booster folded out to one sheet IYSWIM.

I loved Bimbles and Sandy's for my little boy at first but now that he's a bit bigger (about 16lb I think) I prefer Itti's (not a 2 parter I know!) or Bamboozles + wrap. I also have one lollipop softee that still just about fits him and I find myself reaching for it first! It did give him a big bum when he was tiny but it's a lovely nappy!
