I'm starting from enlightenment to romantacism in October-what to expect?

I've not studied with the OU before, so I've really no idea what to expect.
Not so much the coursework itself, I just have no idea about the kind of support I'm likely to get.
Will there be any actual tutorials or just correspondence?
I know I should really go on the OU forums(I think they have them, but am a bit too shy to go on before the course actually starts)

Please OU old hands help calm my nervesGrin

I've just finished this course and it was the best one I've ever done through the OU (and I've done quite a few). You should have tutorials (I did although I couldn't attend them) and have regular e-mail or phone contact with your tutor. You should hear from your tutor just before the course starts giving you details of tutorials and how he/she would like to be contacted.

Definitely go onto First Class (the OU forums) and if you are on Facebook I'm sure there will be a group of students doing the course. I actually found the Facebook group to be more helpful than First Class as there were loads more people chatting on Facebook.

The workload is quite heavy for this course but it's worth it in the end.

Enjoy every second of it - I honestly wish I could do it all again!

Oh thank you that's very helpful. The comment about a heavy workload is a bit scary thoughShock

Don't worry about it schroeder - it's not impossibly heavy. I think as long as you don't fall behind you'll be fine.
